Members of the North Creake community face the terrible prospect of hearing their local Church bells fall silent for the first time in 250 years.

‘In country churches old and pale, I hear the changes smoothly rung, And watch the coloured sallies fly, From rugged hands to rafters high, As round and back the bells are swung’

Welcome to Appeal4Apeal.com, the website of St Marys Church, North Creake in Norfolk England.
At Appeal4apeal we are working to maintain a 250 year old tradition of church bell ringing. But this is not just our bell ringing that's at stake or bells. It is 250 years of community.
This is our community building a legacy for the young people of our village, to ensure the survival of that community. The focus of this is the restoration of the bells of St Mary’s Church.
We are also working to sustain a major feature of English village life, and have created a young persons hand bell ringing team.
The appeal is a 4-year programme which began in January 2008 and runs until December 2011, and will culminate in the 2012 Olympic Year celebrations, where the whole community will come together to enjoy the new bells being rung out across the village.
